Recalled Pet Food Alert by Jacqueline S. Obando, DVM RECALLED PET FOOD ALERT! A recall was announced March 16, 2007 involving a large number of pet food brands, including: Iams Eukanuba Nutro Hills Science Diet PetSmart brands (PDF File) store brands carried by Wal-Mart, Safeway, and Kroger and many others Both dog and cat food are included in the recall. The affected products are all "cuts and gravy" style food (chunks of meat in gravy, sold in cans and small foil pouches) manufactured by Menu Foods - however, a complete list of the involved brands has not been released. Above, we've provide links to the lists we're aware of at this time. None of these recalled products should be fed to your pet. A handful of cases of illness have been linked to these products; if you are concerned about symptoms your pet experiences, please call your veterinarian.
