MercyVet Policies and Useful Information

Prices

The doctors at MercyVet charge by time. Office exams, telephone consultations and accumulated e-mail responses are all charged at the same fee basis of $90.00 per 15 minutes. We work hard and fast and give you our full dedication and expertise, always trying to find the best way to help your pet regain health, and remain healthy. We have tried several other methods before deciding that charging our clients by the time we spend with each case is the simplest and fairest way to do this. There is a one-time new client fee of $15.00 for new clients. This goes toward the time we spend calling for your pet's records, and transferring your pet's previous medical history into our database.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We request a credit card number for mail ordered products and prescriptions MercyVet cannot extend credit as we are independently owned. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Cancellations

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us 24 hours notice so we can try to accommodate other patients.  We understand that emergencies occur. Following the third cancellation without a 24 hour notice, we will ask for a bank card over the phone to secure your appointment. Should you fail to attend your appointment, a $90.00 office call fee will be charged to your account.

Tardiness for Appointments

Typically, the doctors at MercyVet are on a tight schedule, with a waiting list for clients with patients needing to be seen. Clients absent 5 minutes past their appointed time will receive a phone call from us to ensure that you are OK, or on the way. Clients arriving 15 minutes past their appointed time will either receive an abbreviated visit, or their visit will be rescheduled, according to the doctor's time restrictions. Please be aware that when you arrive late, clients being seen after your pet's appointment are forced to wait.

Emergencies

Emergencies can occur during or after hours. If your pet has an emergency we will do our best to accommodate you; however, there are times when a doctor is absent, we are inadequately staffed, or cannot provide the necessary diagnostic procedures to best handle your pet's crisis. In this event, we will refer you to the closest and/or most-appropriate emergency clinic for your pet's problem. Clients wishing to contact their doctor on weekends may e-mail the doctor at info@mercyvet.com. Weekend e-mails are monitored by a veterinary technician, and urgency questions/concerns are forwarded to the appropriate doctor. If you have an off hours emergency, please call or visit the emergency clinic of your choice.

Drop-Offs

Occasionally, if unable to accommodate an emergency on a fully-booked day, the doctor will authorize a drop-off. The client then leaves the patient with us, and the doctor will examine and treat at the very earliest convenience. Patient drop-offs are monitored by the doctors and our technical staff, and our full attention is given to their well being while they are in our care. The appropriate doctor will contact the client by phone with findings, updates, treatment plans, etc.

Prescriptions/Prescription Refills

Please allow for a minimum of 7 days for your prescription refill requests or prescription requests. Please be sure to plan ahead to ensure you and our furry friends to not run out of their medications.

If you are in need of a refill and will be coming for an appointment, we are requesting you alert the staff to this prescription prior to the visit. This will avoid any lengthy wait times while the medications are being filled.
